Streets sweeping is an issue for the recently retired on my street. It takes some a couple of months to get with the program, which I have happily explained to them from the get-go.

The thing that's important to me is, if you ask to park in my driveway, then the minute the sweeper per goes by, move your effing car. Nancy doesn't. One tuesday, I had to go to the doctor. When I came back, her car was parked in my driveway, so I had to park on my front lawn.

Plus, she already parks in front of my house and her car leaks. They don't get it fixed, and we had a big fight about her leaking car. Our streets got repaved in the last two years, so they're gorgeous, except in front of my house. So for 2 reasons, she can no longer park in my driveway.

There's a grandma who lives 2 houses up who moves her car at ten a m to the other side of the street, waits in it until the sweeper comes by for about five minutes, and swings around to where she normally parks; that's how you do it.

I believe I'm the only person in 36 houses who parks in her one-car garage.
